Who's bought from this guy

Postby softball66 » April 26th, 2007, 6:03 pm

This ebay seller must move a lot of baseball gloves. I see some of our
glove guys including Dave Bushing have bought from him. Anybody know anything about him?:

Lin Griffin is his name. In fact you had a glove owned by him in a newsletter a few issues ago. It was the black A2800 that was used by JT Snow when he played with the Angels that had the Mickey Mouse Wilson patch.

I have bought several gloves from him with no problems.

Postby softball66 » April 27th, 2007, 8:33 am

Well, I'll be doggone. He might even be on this glove forum. Yes, I've known Lin for sometime, many email conversations. I emailed at a eBay auction site but got no reply. Anyone have his regular email address? I've lost his regular email. Seems he uses his wife's email. :?:
thanks guys!

no reply to two emails

If this is Lin then he must be deaf to emails as I emailed him twice over a week's period about a Mickey Mantle glove he had listed on ebay. NO ANSWER either time. If anyone is in touch with him, please tell him that I need to contact him for a story on this glove.
Thanks All!

Hi Joe,

I actually got a Mickey Mantle MMX from Lin. Not sure why he does not answer. The MMx I got is for a left handed thrower, so not sure if that is the one you were wondering about.

Hi Mike, Lin must have a lot of Mantle gloves. That one sounds interesting.

Mickey Mantle Jr Glove

Postby softball66 » April 30th, 2007, 3:53 pm

It was indeed his posting of the Mickey Mantle Jr. glove in which it sounded like he pitched against Mickey Jr. in the minor leagues and won his glove that Jr. said that his dad owned.
I had played two years of softball with Mickey Jr. prior to his getting that minor league shot that his dad set up in 1979 at Alexandria VA.
I wanted to check and see if "Lin" or whomever were on the same page with the glove as I though Mickey Sr. had "gotten" a glove from Rawlings for Junior from Rawlings but Jr. never told me it was his dad's gamer. Two emails to the seller address. No replies regarding it. So it's sort of left over for suspicion right now. Anyone need the auction #?
Glove looks like an XPG3 adapted but also an XPG6 maybe, not with the twisted (wrapped) lace vertical connector that we see on Senior's gloves.
Thanks for all the input. Maybe we can get to the bottom of this.
