John Graham started a stationery, book binding and office supply company in Spokane WA. after the Great Fire of 1889. His first offices were located in a tent city as the town was being rebuilt. His business grew rapidly and by 1917 he owned a large multi-story retail store in addition to a booming wholesale distribution facility. His business branched out into other ventures, one of which was the sale of sporting goods.

An 1889 photo of the business operating out of tents after the fire of 1889.
