Looks pretty early, but not from 1958. The earliest ones had the Triple Lock Web as shown on this page from the 1958 catalog.

Probably '59 though. Solid Full barrel triple lock web as opposed to the 3/4 Triple Lock of '58.
The '60 A2 had spiral-laced web top, all fingers X-laced, index finger loop on back.

Looks to be 1959 indeed, Joe. I uploaded the 1960 catalog page from JD's site that show the spiral-laced web and other features you pointed out.

Thanks so much for the info.

I recently got an old A2000 that Earl Malone is relacing for me.

He says it's a '61-'62. I had forgotten about JD's catalog pages. Going to check 'em out now.

Does anyone know when this model was introduced?

Thought I'd add some more photos since photobucket crapped out. Mainly sticking to the "Shooting Star" models. They're the most collectible. First is a 1957 model (pre A2000 "Shooting Star") to get some visual context.

The 1958 "Shooting Star" model below. What changed from '57? Continuous crotch lacing eliminated, redesign of the "Triple Lock Web", redesign of the palm pad & lacing, streamline fingers.

A 1963 example. Have to work Brett into the mix. He's busy snowshoeing at Brimfield right now. Interesting how Wilson tweaked the "Shooting Star" model every year.

Below is an interesting custom A2000 WIlson glove made for Joe Morgan from the mid 1960's. No more shooting star logo but it features the 1961 heel pattern, eliminates the x-laced fingers and has a retro 1957 "Triple Lock Web" design with minimal crotch reinforcing lace.

According to Joe Phillips, The only significant change to the A2000 glove in 1964 was the redesign of the wrist strap and addition of the round "W" logo patch. 1964 was the 50th anniversary for Wilson Sporting Goods.

The 1964 twin split web web A2000 glove was continued in 1965. An additional A2000 model was introduced in '65 with an open web.

The new '65 open web A2000 model below. This is a rare one!

1967 marked the end of the "Shooting Star" model. The A2000 was redesigned with a new pocket logo, dual hinge web and two piece palm.
