Most look like same model with three or four different leathers. Some of the other companies of the early 1900s did the same thing, I'm guessing from having different hides available, buckskin, calf skin, sheep skin, horeshide, etc. and YES, sadly to report, Goldsmith had a dog hide glove. I'd seen that skin used from previous catalogs and, I guess, in those days, it was accepted. It's hard to find horsehide
available these days. Last attempt we were involved in, the horsehide had to come from France.
On another topic, one has to love the 1932 Great Western (Chicago) Catalog with names like Vernon Washington ( a legend in Texas League baseball ), Mel Almada, Bud Hafey, Johnny Marcum,Blondy Ryan, Alex Sparra, "Cotten" Pippen to name a few. There are Rip Radcliffe and Wally Moses, who's gloves have shown up some. Most of the above had only one or two years in the majors. Surprise name on their: Enos Slaughter. Great Western brand gloves are "flat rare."
