Arky Vaughan glove on ebay....

Postby gashouse_34 » June 1st, 2011, 1:51 am

Hello, I don't post too often but Iove this site as it is a wealth of knowledge. I am curious about this Arky Vaughan glove that ends tommorow. I don't mean to "Out" an auction but the seller has failed to answer my questions. Here is the message I sent to the seller:

"Hello and sorry to bother. I just have a couple of questions about this glove. I was wondering how positive you are that this is an Arky Vaughan glove? Is it possible it could have a different endorsement or can you clearly see it is an Arky Vaughan model. If so does the endorsement say "Arky Vaughan" or "Floyd Vaughan"? Can you tell me the model number of this glove if it is legible? That might help confirm if it actually is an Arky Vaughan model. I believe you are being honest about the glove I just can't help but question only because there has NEVER been an Arky Vaughan glove found and documented even by the most established baseball glove collectors. If this truly is a "one of a kind" glove it is absolutely remarkable. Thanks for your time".

The seller responded by saying "I will ask my expert friend and get back to you"

I never heard back from him. Unless I am wrong no one has ever found an Arky Vaughan glove, correct? I know on JD's site I have seen a Nokona reissue of an Arky Vaughan glove. The glove that is listed is a Nokona brand. I was courteous to the seller but I'm having a hard time believing it actually is an Arky Vaughan glove. What do you all think? Thanks for your time. Brandon

Seems from the description that the signature is faint. I have no idea if the glove is authentic. The seller has a 7 day return guarantee. Paypal also has a buyer protection for fraudulent advertising. I have used both services and they work. It all depends on how much you want the glove at this point.

It's a Nokona Chris Van Cuyk glove - don't waste your money.

Thanks Mike at Brett for your input. I thought it was too good to be true. Somebody bought it.....guess they will be getting a refund on it soon. Thanks again, Brandon

No problem - glad you didn't get burned. I know that Arky Vaughan items are coveted - too bad no gloves have surfaced.
