Early 1940's Wilson #685 split finger glove

Any one have any information on this glove? It is lighter in color with camel colored extra padding up the thumb, bottom of palm and up the pinky finger. I find info on Model# 615 & 635, but not the #685? I know it's from 1942 if not a year or two earlier

The extra padding on the outside that you mentioned would make this a softball glove.
