I just received a Lowe and Campbell Billy Herman Glove. I am looking for more information on the brand. Thanks.

Am I correct in assuming that Lowe and Campbell was a Wilson company? The markings and patent numbers are all Wilson.

You are right about the Wilson connection. According to Joe Phillips Glove Catalog Source Book, Wilson purchased Lowe & Campbell in the 1930's. The Billy Herman model A17 is listed in the mid 1930's and the early 1940's as models A18 & A26. The Herman model was in the middle of the price range. Lowe & Campbell were mainly retail and wholesalers, not manufacturers. I owned a couple and found them to be very well built, quality gloves. I also like the long, narrow cloth patch.

Thanks for the info. I actually thought it was a Wilson when I saw it on ebay--it sure looked like one. Mine is the A26 model, but doesn't have a patch. The markings are pretty strong and it is a nice glove. I appreciate all the info.
