A "newbie" question

Postby Smokey Burgess » November 27th, 2010, 7:19 pm

I have 2 vintage gloves. A Reach one-inch web and a Reach full-web.
When someone asks "how old" or "when made", what is the best answer?
Thanks!

The full web was around at the turn of the century and the 1" web after 1912 and both intermixed till the 1920's with the full web eventually dropping out. The Rawlings Bill Doak glove of 1922 changed a lot of thinking of webs. Check out http://www.baseballglovecollector.com in the glove library. There are lots of Reach catalogs to download and many other brands
