Another beauty from the baseballglovecollector.com website caught my eye. The distinctive off center heel pad and very strange lacing patern on the back of the glove are really a knock-out.
Elroy Rogers of Sprigfield MA. was the inventor with a patent date of 1910. Unfortunately the patent drawing did not show the back of the glove.
Elroy Rogers formed Rogers Sporting Goods in Sprigfield circa 1910. This glove design was not his only claim to fame. He was one of the primary inventors for Victor Sporting Goods from their founding in 1898 and produced some very innovative glove designs which brought that short lived company to prominence.
