I had a Roger Maris glove once. Why all the fuss and high bidding over this one?

I don't know either. I bid on a Maris a few weeks ago and it was one of the models that began with the number 42. I had owned one a few years back and sold it for around $15 so i thought I might try to get that one and clean ti up a little and try to sell it. I think my max bid was around $17............the store model glove went for over $35 dollars. I guess Maris gloves are hot right now.

Did you read the questions about the glove? Looks like she had a dealer bid on all of her gloves and she blocked him causing him to say a few things.

The questions about the glove were entertaining, indeed. I've seen a trend toward people including comments and offers and I get a kick out of it.

As for the glove, that is a beauty! I'm not saying I'm about to up the $280 bid on it, but have always liked the upper-end Spalding trapeze models which are about as close to the Rawlings TG12 Musial as you can get (and the Musials TG12s often clear $275). I think it is more the model than the endorsement. Does anyone know what model he used?

I agree with the rest of your assessments. We ran a photo in the newsletter with Roger wearing a Trapeze style glove. This model is an "autographed" model (catalog book shows "Personal) from 1963 (and maybe '64) that sold for $26.50 whereas the top four Spalding models that year sold for $42.95 and $39.95 . This glove has a nice look and in excellent shape and of course comes with the package of the Cap and video. The seller is from Canada but has cut off Canadian sales which, from here, looks surprising. And yes the TG12, TT10 and TG15s are very popular sellers.

Yea, I thought that was kind of interesting, too, that she was not open to fellow Canadian bidders. Maybe there are restrictions on what paypal can do in Canada regarding settling disputes. The one bidder was not real pleased about it (an understatement). And I agree with you 100% about Personals being more sought after and valuable than Professionals, but there are a handful of Professionals that I really like, including this Maris, an XPG20 Mantle, some of the TT Nokonas, etc. Still, they'd have to be pretty darn special to take them to $280 which harks back to your initial comment.
