Edward K. Tryon Patches.... NEED Help finding info!

Postby MTGLOVEGUY » July 27th, 2010, 5:49 pm

My question & request to all members, I would like to see any and all different Edward K. Tryon Patches, I am trying to locate any gloves/mitts that have the Teal or any other colored patch that differs from all the other colors ( black, white, etc.) and sizes in that it states Edward K. Tryon Jr. not just Edward K. Tryon or Ed. K. Tryon. Please respond her on forum or send a PM, as well I would like to see photos. Thanks BJ

Hi, this is from a 1911 model 88 Tryon catchers mitt. The patch states EDW. K. TRYON CO. The color is like a royal blue with gold letters

Sending pics of a five finger vintageTrusport softball mitt with the Trusport label on the wrist strap Trusport sole distrubutors Edw. K. Tryon Co Phila Pa. Since I have two mitts with this same label I am wondering if Trusport was a line of gloves made by Tryon. I cannot find information on Trusport. Cannot anyone shed light on this.

Tryon could have been the retailer for the TruSport brand. Interesting the TruSport cloth patch states Tryon as the distributor. TruSport itself could have been made by Denkert Sporting goods in Gloversville, NY. Denkert made gloves for a fair number of other companies besides their own brand. TruSport may not have had their own manufacturing facility, just a warehouse and offices.
