What is the best source for finding values of some vintage gloves? Is there a good price guide anyone could direct me to that might tell me more accurately what price ranges for some of my old vintage gloves would be?
I have a handful of gloves that I have picked up as parts of larger glove lots. Some are definitely best used as a wall decoration in a sports bar, others just need a cleaning/conditioning and maybe some laces repalced. I haven't jumped in to deep into vintage glove collecting. I've been a little more pulled towards modern gloves, but have picked up several vintage gloves here and there as parts of various glove lots I've bought at auctions, estate sales, etc. However, work, kids, divorce and life have left me with little free time to pursue collecting of vintage gloves.
If I have something that is collectable to a real glove collector I would rather sell it to a collector who would actually apprecaite the vintage glove than to someone who is just going to nail it to a wall in a bar. Is there a good source where I can figure out an accurate value for some of these vintage gloves? I'd like to post some of them for sale on the forum if there is any interest, but I don't want to price anything way too high, or too low.
I think most of what I have for the vintage gloves is going to date from the 40's to the 60's. Some of the gloves I can think of off the top of my head include I have gloves including Rawlings DB45, Rawlings LM22, Rawlings MC Mort Cooper, a couple 60's Rawlings trap style first base mitts, one HOH, one lower end Boog Powell endorsed model, MacGregor/Goldsmith G155, Goldsmith DW Elmer Riddle, Hutch 30 Johnny Logan, several vintage kids gloves, store brand gloves, 60's Nokona Tex Size Trap, and others I can't think of off the top of my head.
Rather than packing them away and hauling them around in several moves until I have time to devote to vintage glove, however many years that may be in the future, I'm thinking I will just sell off some gloves if there are collectors who would want any of my gloves. I don't really want to hassle with posting gloves individually and asking the forum what each glove might be worth, so if anyone can point me in the direction of a good source for vintage glove prices/values it would be appreciated.
And if this information is already on the site somewhere, I apologize, I was not able to find any previous posts that directed me to a price guide for vintage gloves.
Thanks in advance.
