Great video. That's a true fan! What I liked is that they say he never talks about the "value" of his items. Now that's what collecting is all about. I wish they would have spent a little more time on his gloves.

AK-

I liked that part as well that he just enjoys being able to obtain all those things rather than worrying about the value. I wish they would have spent a little more time on the gloves as well, sure looked like he had quite a few. Most of them looked like 50's models but he had some nice ones with boxes. Two Robinson gamers...that is really cool too!!

What a great collection!!!! I also grew up in New Jersey and saw my beloved DODGERS play in Ebbetts Field. As he was a fan of Duke Snider, my main man was Roy Campanella. In fact I remember almost coming to blows with by buddy when he argued that Gil Hodges was the best DODGER. I have only about 3 items that would be appropriate for his collection. When it goes into a museum, I will be in line to visit...... As a sidelight, there is a fellow here in Denver who has an official game used baseball bat for every member of the Hall of Fame. At times he displays part of the collection in various venues, for instance The Denver Art Museum.

I often wonder how smart it is for guys like that and maybe the rest of us here and on other sites that “show off” our collections with information of where we live etc. Are we setting our selves up to be robbed?

I'm sure that if you can afford a collection like that you can afford an effective security system. :D
