Was very excited to see the newest issue of the glove newsletter in my mailbox today but was equally disappointed to see it's the last one. Joe, thanks for all the wonderful newsletters - I've enjoyed reading them since my dad started getting his subscription way back when. In my glove collecting hall of fame, your the first inductee for all that you've done!

I barely noticed when the newspaper stopped coming. It became too biased to really call it news. Then my magazines stopped coming. I dug around and found something else. Now, the newsletter is done. It took an eight page quarterly to make the losses of print media hit home. A sad day. I know that if the content keeps flowing online, myself and many others will continue printing them out.

After I heard the news, I was trying to remember how and when I actually found it. It must have been around 1997 or so. I honestly can't remember. I know it wasn't the internet. It's been a part of my collecting for so long that it's like trying to remember the first time you met your parents. It's always been there.

Thanks for the education Joe!

Ditto and maximum kudos!

Unquestionably the most knowledgable, the most willing to help and a good friend for over 20 years.

TGC Newsletter, the end of a great era and what a run. Reference books and price guides have been multiple "bibles"for us glovers. Keep your wit, humor, stories, experience and advice coming, please.

See ya on Halloween Famous.

Hi Joe,

It was great speaking to you on the phone the other day. My newsletter arrived yesterday. I'm going to miss receiving it. Reading off a screen is one thing. But, somehow that little paper with it's infielder logo and your editorial flare cannot be replaced. Thanks for stoking the glove collecting flames all these years. I feel sorry for future glovers who might not get a chance to read it. Please keep writing.

That is sad news, like finding out that an old friend won't be stopping by anymore. Thanks for all of the great articles and stories and all the effort you put into your fine newsletter over the years, Joe! TGC will be missed.

Just returned from two weeks in FL and was excited to see a fresh copy of the newsletter in the mail. But my excitement was short-lived when I read that it would be the last issue. I started collecting this past May and had just subscribed to TGC. Naturally, I am disappointed. I had the good fortune to purchase 30 back issues (#13-43) of TGC in an Ebay auction a few months back, and I was totally blown away with the content. Some of the articles and stories were so well written that they brought a tear to my eye. So even though my subscription only lasted for two issues, I was still able to experience several years of The Glove Collector's hobby coverage. Thank you Joe, for a job well done. I hope the health issue that you mentioned is not a serious one and that you will continue to be a guiding light in this hobby for years to come.

A collecting hobby, for me, is meeting and enjoying new friendships, and I've made some great, long-lasting buddies through the newsletter(s). Thanks to you all for your kindest of words. You and your participation were all part of the great experiment and experience. I'll not leave the hobby. I'll post here and on J D's site to impart what I know and what I guess at. Many, many thank you's go out to all those who have called and written and posted here.
Anytime I can help anyone, will be glad to lend a hand err. a glove.
