Here's a rarity. A Wilson Ron Santo A2200 and stamped in palm "Designed by Ron Santo" Non catalogued. I think I've seen a few gloves that show
"designed by". . but not many.
When I saw this glove I wondered if Ron got the idea for these vertical lacings from Rawlings "Flex-O-Matic" palm but just extended the idea to the finger and thumb areas. I think the lacing was used to hold the pocketed padding in place and Rawlings use of vertical instead of horitzontal and diagonal lacing seems to make the glove close easier and not create much of a "bump" when the ball strikes it. Just an observation.

That's interesting, Joe. I have a "Designed by Nelson Fox" Wilson. I've always wondered how much input the player had on the glove design itself. Any ideas on that?
This glove is now listed on ebay if anyone is interested. First one of these I'd seen by OK is right about the Nelson Fox designed glove which I remembered when he wrote that.
