Nocona's New Life and a High Life

Postby softball66 » May 22nd, 2009, 3:18 pm

Got this note from Nocona today:

"Howdy from Nokona!

Miller High Life, in conjunction with Nokona, is running a Summer, Text to Win program. Nokona has created two styles of Miller High Life gloves and a Miller High Life wood bat for prizes in this Text to Win program.

The more Text "hits" that Miller receives helps Nokona with future co-branding projects with Nokona, so text early and often and have a chance to win a High Life glove or bat!

If you feel like buying a case or two of High Life to show your support, and need help drinking it, I'm your man

Have your friends get to texting!

Text “Glove” to 334455
Text “Base” to 334455
Text “Ball” to 334455
Text “Bat” to 334455
Text “Hit” to 334455

Thanks,[color=brown]

I find this disappointing - to me it is almost like the indie band that sells out by using one of their songs for a commercial. I understand the marketing strategy but, in my opinion, I'd like to see them go with a company that would incorporate the under 21 generation as well.

I agree. I purposely wear my Nokona t-shirts and use my Nokona gloves at LL practice. I wan the kids to realize there are other companies out there.

BOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Friday I am on top of the world. I get this call from Tracy asking if I remembered entering this text to win contest. She congratulates me and tells me I have won a Nokona glove and bat. I am absolutely happy. This is just too cool. I giver her my required contact, DOB and she says 4-6 weeks.

Today at lunch I get another call and its Tracy again. Congratulating me for winning. I kind of laugh and tell her she talked to me on Friday about winning and she says well I must have one another one. I give her my DOB and address, etc and she says hold on a sec. She then tells me I am not eligible as I live in South Carolina. )c:

Very bummed today. Joe do you have the original email and rules still?

Joe, if you happen to win twice like I did , I hope you think of me (c:

I got the rules:
GENERAL RULES: This sweepstakes is open only to residents of LA, NM, OK or
TX who are of legal drinking age at time of entry.

Clearly they are missing out on the lovely state of SC

ROFLMAO

My cell phone starts buzzing and I look down at the number. I say to myself, nope it can't be Tracey from the contest again. I answer and I hear a little gasp. I say Hi Tracey, did I win another one that I can't win. Yes you did, sorry to bother you.

Go figure out of 5 texts, I have won 3 and am ineligleble still. I told her it was fate that I should have one of these bats and gloves

I'd cry if this wasn't becoming so dang funny

Sounds like whoever is running that contest has been sampling too much Genuine Draft. That's a pretty raw deal. :(
