Finding the Top Line Spalding Models

It seems to me that the Spalding gloves of the 1950s are not as prevalent as the Rawlings and Wilson retail models. Maybe even MacGregor had more out there.
My question is this: how many own or have seen the top of the line Rocky Colavito or Frank Bolling models? Especially a left hand model? In my hunts I have turned up one Frank Bolling, nary a Rocky Colavito and only one Roger Maris personal model.

I can't say that I've seen a Rocky Colavito 50's PM in a lefty, Sports Artifacts had a 50's LHT Frank Bolling that I hemmed and hawed about for a long time and then it sold before I made up my mind. I have a Al Dark LHT PM right out of the box, I think it's a 1003 model. I have more 60's Spalding PM's and Professional models but not 50's. All LHT since that's what I am.

Hi Joe,
I picked up a Colavito 1141 Colavito PM (the HSP clone) on ebay a couple of years back. Also a Colavito 1103, but that's a 1960 model. Can't remember seeing another of either model since. Also have Sal Maglie, Al Dark, Rizzuto, Warren Hacker, and Sam Mele PM's and a 1001 Professional Model. No Bolling (or Don Larsen or Sam Esposito) either. I don't remember ever seeing an Esposito PM. I bought the Mele glove 8 years ago and haven't seen another, so I've always thought that was a tough one, too. Aside from the Hacker and Dark models, they just don't seem to turn up. I suppose the lefties are tougher still. Being a righty, I usually skip over those listings.

Sometimes deals made in the parking lot of your local Home Depot turn out to be pretty good. Just this evening I had the pleasure of picking up a Spalding model 1115 Frank Bolling personal model in excellent condition. I bought it from the original owner who got it brand new back in high school in 1960. I see that this glove only appears in the Spalding catalogs in 59 and 60. Glove is in excellent condition, great leather and nice tag. Also, the guy didn't write his name on it so it's ink free. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow if I have some time.

Joe, I have a mint model 1095 Frank Bolling in a picture box. Not sure when it was made, my guess would be 60's.

The only thing I get in the parking lot of my local Home Depot are flat tires! That is a nice glove.
