I was a little surprised when our forum leader posted the most popular brands of collectors and the Ken Wels didn't get more mention. The Ken Wel company made some outstanding quality gloves and mitts. It was a very innovative company with the Vance, the zipper backs, reinforced fingers, etc. and popular with the Akadema folks who study their glove history.
Here's a top of the line Ken Wel catchers mitt and successor to the zipper back Muddy Ruel Ken Wel, this one endorsed by Harry Danning.
I didn't find it listed in any of my catalog books but suspect it was a late 1930s or early 1940s model. Danning's name was listed on some mid-line Ken Wel models earlier in the 1930s.
