how old this article?

Thanks for sharing mudman. I wonder when this article was written. I think they're way down on units in Ava or if it's still open. Ken Jenkins was working there. Clevenhagen's in Washington, MO producing way under 20,000 units. So I'm guessing this article is a bit dated.
Loved the part where the gloves arrive (UPS? FEDEX?) for the players. What happened to the reps that used to bring these around every spring. I know they do because I saw a pic couple of years ago with Sean Casey looking over the Rawlings line in camp.
And who among us has not gotten excited to have the delivery or postal guy drop off a glove! Lawsy! I do enjoy opening those packages.
I'm a little careful of smelling and pounding some of the gloves that have arrived but like Bob Gibson I do shake them to see if money falls out.
I didn't know H of hides came from Black Angus but did know the steaks from those cows are premium. Does anyone know where the heart of the cow is on the "heart of the hide" leather? I do.
Nocona is now the largest producer of gloves in the U. S.

I thought it was dated a bit and Bob agrees 6 years ago. Some insightful information. Funny how much has changed at Rawlings though. No longer at Ava.
Some new kids on the block, Kelly, Nike, Glovemaster, etc.
