Catch 22

.
ALL THE EXCUSES we have heard for missing the catch:
"The glove was new.
The glove was too stiff.
The glove was too floppy.
The glove was too small.
The glove was too big. Couldn't feel the ball.
The laces were broken.
The glove was too spongy.
The web broke."
I'm sure more.
This is like blaming the dog for passing gas, as all of us know.

After having sold and enjoyed some 3, 000 gloves, I wanted to pass this along to our glovers as an enjoyable topic. Selling gloves sight unseen, especially new ones, I use the Three Bears theory because a baseball glove is a tactile tool. I've heard the "too soft, too hard," just right," countless times. Different players have a preference on their leather and it's stiffness.
