Anyone Going to the National?

Anyone here attending the 29th National Sports Collectors Convention at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL at the end of this month? My little brother and I will be traveling out and will be attendance the first two days. If any other glove collectors want to say hi, let me know that you are going and I'll give you my cell number.

This will be 5th National and they are always fun. Sometimes you find some good gloves, most of the time, you don't. But there are tons of things to look at and prices that will boggle your mind.

I was just watching a show called "Treasure HD" that covered the National in Chicago a year ago or two. The lady whom host's the show is from the Antiques Road Show and History Detectives. They showed Dave Bushing authenticating a Jimmie Foxx bat. Anyways I started cracking up when some guy from Mastronet was dribbling over a 1915 Cracker Jack set and said the Joe Jackson card in his "Chicago White Sox" Uniform was one of the most desirable cards. Of course the 1915 Jackson was with the Cleveland Nap's. I guess the big C on his cap fooled even someone from Mastronet. I'll be going to the National next year. Flying and taking a Taxi to and from. Chicago toll roads suck, I drove through once and that was enough !

Maybe next year. A few questions about that show:

What is the cost? You don't have to purchase those VIP tickets just to get in and look, do you?

Are there dates and locations for next year yet?

And most impoortant-What are the odds that Bartman shows? That poor guy! I'd do it for 25k!

Daily tickets are $15 each - you don't have to buy the VIP pass.

Next year is in Cleveland - it's always around the same week - last week in July/First in August.

No way Bartman shows!

I was watching espn and they said Bartman will most likely be there....

If bartman shows they are going to have to have gaurds around him 24/7
