What kind of glove is this?

Postby dwknowles » October 18th, 2006, 4:34 pm

Does anyone recognize it's design? The markings are completely gone, and the button has nothing on it and there are no tags. I was just wondering if anyone would recognize it from other gloves they have seen.

Also, it has the gromits for the web, but I wonder if there was a full web attatched to those flaps or was it a modified tunnel web design? Really have no clue.

I have the exact same glove, but mine still has the original lacing (at least I think it is original) in the web. It just has a single piece of lacing that forms an "X" between the grommets. If you want me to post a picture let me know. Mine does not have any markings either.

I think they were making these type webbings on these glove in the late 1920s, early 1930s like the tunnel loops. although...
I had a pre 1900s catchers mitt with somewhat similar sewn and laced web. Go figure.
