Endorsement

Postby robin_buckeye » May 25th, 2008, 6:54 pm

Is it unusual for a player to get a glove endorsement during such a short (and perhaps undistinguished) career?

Back in the day it wasn't uncommon at all. A lot of endorsed gloves are from players who had a small taste of the Majors and in some cases, never made it at all. I remember looking up the statistics for Jim Oglesby when I was selling one of his mitts and he only played 3 major league games and had 11 at bats.

Bob Buhl played 15 seasons and was for several years the third starter for the Braves behind Warren Spahn and Lew Burdette. Here is his page from Baseball Reference. http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/buhlbo01.shtml
