Dave Singer Glove Collection

Postby softball66 » March 20th, 2008, 6:05 pm

Dave Singer, who was a whale of a nice guy and longtime glove collector, passed away several years ago and I just got a call from someone who might know what happened to Dave's glove collection? I'm sure that no one contacted me about it after he died. If anyone on the panel knows, let me know. Have a guy who's looking for some catchers mitt that Dave owned.

Joe, as far as I can remember the whole collection was bought by one person. I was interested in buying a couple of the gloves, but Dave's daughter told me the whole collection was sold to a single buyer. I thought, but maybe wrong, that Bill Diebold, Everything Baseball, bought the collection. You might want to check with Bill.

Thought you might know and Bill would have been an understandable choice for buying Dave's fine collection. Never knew anyone who enjoyed glove collecting and baseball more than brother Dave.
Guy was calling me because Dave had a Mickey Grasso and Sam Calderone catchers mitt and this fellow was collecting gloves of minor leaguers who had passed through his town.
