Ok, I see what you mean now. I wasn't sure where you were coming from earlier. The patch does look like it is filling in the opening on the back of a righty glove. That possibility didn't enter my mind. It's an interesting take. However, I still think it's the Sauer patent with a patched palm covering the area that would have been padded. The shadow line between the patch and the wrist looks like it might be sewn and I can see what looks like the edges of two horizontal stitch lines poking out along the western edge of the patch. The photos are horrible, so it could just be shadows, but comparing the photos to the patent, it looks consistent to me. Hmmmm.
