thxforthebp,
do you own the wilson now on ebay now or the one that JD used to own? I know the one on ebay seems to be a mitt as Mike mentioned on the model 563, but I am still curious on the one JD used to have.

I have a nice Firestone Olympian 5521-9 mitt (no finger dividers) with fax Johnny Mize signature and has also has his actual signature from a show I attended at Cincinnati a few years ago. I have several other similar mitts; and so, judging from this mitt, I would term them baseman's mitts.

Posting a picture of an Olympic G1341 Babe Dahlgren fax sig, first baseman for Boston, NY and Chicago of the AL and Boston, Chicago Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Pittsburg of the NY (years 1935-1946) Babe Dahlgren was the man who took over as the Yankees first baseman in 1939 when legendary Lou Gehrig ended his consecutive games-played streak.

About the three mitts:
"It's a Diamond" on the thumb. A Diamond Shape in the pocket. Genuine Calfskin, but no endorsement. Buckle back. A beautiful mitt. An early TGC Newletter wrote this "We current list the Diamond Brand as a private Label. The Diamond Brand gloves date back to the turn of the century."

The other two mitts are D & M mitts: the lighter mitt's a Youths DB55 Horsehide, the darker mitt's a model S67 with buckle back, no apparent sig on either of these.
