The show is quickly approaching so I wanted to touch base with the forum and let you guys know what's going on.

We are going to have quite the selection in our booth. Right now we have over 170 gloves and mitts ready for you to purchase. First off, many of these gloves have not seen the light of day to the general collecting public for many years, some are fresh from shows and local auctions. Only a small percentage has been on eBay. Oh, and they aren't just scraps!! There is a wide range of prices and a diverse selection of gloves. For those of you into the early gloves, we have some nice sewn web models as well as a fielders mitts, double buckle 1B mitts and some gorgeous catchers mitts. Manufacturers include Alex Taylor, Stall & Dean, Reach, Spalding, Ratsch Peerless and many others. Collectors interested in 1930's and 40's gloves will have a lot to choose from - both endorsed and non-endorsed. Included in the selection are an assortment of high quality 50's, 60's and 70's gloves with some nice Rawlings Heart of the Hides, Wilson A2000's, top line Spaldings, and other personal models. If boxes are what you crave, we will have an assortment of those as well, some with the glove and others without. There will be bargain bins of $10, $15 and $25 gloves with some good stuff mixed into those - buy more than one and save even more. If you are looking to add other types of vintage items we'll have bats, advertising pieces, uniforms, jerseys, letter sweaters, trophies, photos, programs, catalogs, press photos, baseballs and much, much more.

William will have an assortment of his wonderful, hand crafted baseballs and gloves. John Graham will be there with copies of his book for those of you who haven't picked up a copy yet or want another one. :D Mr. Mitt will be doing a special jig and singing a jaunty tune he created just for the event. 8) We have cards with essential glove collector sites printed up to hand out to the masses of people we hope will swarm our booth. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will have a glove giveaway drawing, allowing one lucky person to take home a free vintage glove.

For those of you attending the game on Thursday night, I have the tickets portioned out into envelopes with your name on it - just stop by the booth on Wednesday or Thursday so I can give them to you.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the show. Booth 2274 is the place to be!

Glovers, just got a note from long time dealer and glover, Bill Diebold of Everything Baseball who will be at the national be sure to look Bill up. Super nice guy.
Hey Joe,

I have talked to most of those fellas,(glovers who are attending) but haven't met them face to face.

I will have booth #2649P or there abouts. Steve Reiferson who has done the National since 1982, has four booths in his name in the corporate pavilion. My friend Danny and I will share one of them. 4 tables. I won't have any gloves, but I will have my 1890s catcher's mask that has been on display at the Yogi Berra museum since 1998. And tons of other neat stuff.

Well, bags are packed, everything is ready to go. We'll be leaving for Baltimore shortly and I'll try and post some updates tomorrow if time permits. Don't forget, booth 2274 is going to be glove central! When you get to the show, start sprinting to our booth! :)

Today was load in day. Thanks to the convention center for electing not to turn on the AC today - it was very thoughtful of them. I must say, having been to the National the past 3 or 4 years, this one has some great gloves!! Wow! People coming to the show are in for a treat.

Brett's not pulling your leg! There are a whole mess of gloves, nice ones, being set up. If you're on the fence about coming to Baltimore, get here any way you can, you're going to love it! And Rob, a shame you chose other things to spend your money on besides a plane ticket. But thank you, I'll take all the S&D's!!!

Opening day today - public came in at 3:30. It was very crowded with lots of shoppers. We got tons of compliments on the booth (mainly due to Number9's incredible spread). Seems to be a pretty good interest in gloves with more people saying they'd like to spend more time checking them out tomorrow. Meeting veteran collectors for the first time and seeing old friends again too. Can't wait to see more collectors tomorrow! Don't forget to pick up your Orioles tickets for the game.

One more thing - once you step over the white line and enter our booth you enter into a contract where you have to purchase a minimum of one baseball or tshirt from the Huntington Base Ball Co. 8)

Another fun day at the show. Pleasure meeting so many new faces and seeing old friends. That's the best part of the show. We had fun at the game tonight as well. I'm sure this will turn into the Rob and Ricky caption contest but here you go:

You betcha, and I'm hoping for some seemingly compromising photos as well. You know, like someone holding up a vintage cheerleading outfit (or mannequin weirdage). Jerry, you know what I'm looking for. Send me photos from your phones or whatever and I'll do the rest (glovecraz@aol.com).

The game looked like fun, though of course my Angels lost another (argh!). Who's who in the photo?

Speaking of photos, lets see some more of the booth!

Just to chime in real quick - Brett, William and John are going to be world famous!!! They have been interviewed by ESPN 360, Old Cardboard and a couple of others snapping bunches of photos and taking lots of quotes. They are doing the greatest job of drawing attention to our hobby. Brett has been having glove drawings and kids have been winning them each time. Whatdayaknow! He has been super cool to the kids and that's what has been so fun to watch. William's stuff is absolutely amazing too. You gotta get a glove or ball from him when you get a chance. John has a cool continuous slide show of pages from his book. You can't call yourself a true glove collector if you don't have this one. This book, along with Joe's Catalog Source Book, Pocket Price Guide, Nokona book and Dave C's Web book are essential.

It's been fun hanging out and meeting everyone I have dealt with over the years. Seems like they all showed up for this one. Good to finally meet you guys.

Hi Guys,

It sure sounds like you are having a lot of fun and excitement too. I wish I were there to share in the fun. Hope you all do well at the Nationals and have a great time. Keep up the good work too on getting the word out on our little hobby.

Not a great day for sales but as JD mentioned, a great day for publicity. We taped a spot with the Sports Guy, Bill Simmons, for ESPN E60 that will air in the fall. Right after that the editors at Old Cardboard magazine did a taping and took some photos of our stuff - they said you can go to their website and they send out a free e-newsletter.

Had fun seeing some new and old faces again today. Will have some more pictures and better writeups sometime next week. Two more days to go and then I'll probably need a few days to recover!!! 8)

Hey Brett,
Sounds like you guys had a busy few days. Hope your sales pick up in the remaining days. Tell John and JD and the rest of the glovers hi for me and hope John and JD have some luck with sales too.
