Question about vintage mitts/gloves

Postby No-Lite-Toe » May 9th, 2008, 5:29 pm

Does anyone know if Rawlings, Wilson, etc. have a website or book, that shows the pictorial history of every manufactured glove and mitt of theirs? I'm particularly interested in the 40's thru 80's.

That sure would be a great resource for glove collectors! Unfortunately, no such animal exists.

About the closest things we have are "The Vintage Baseball Glove Catalog Source Book" and forum member "ebbets55" web site (which you can see here: Baseball Glove Collector.com)

I would also recommend a fine book with plenty of glove illustrations, especially tracing the glove webs, Dave Cunninham's book "A Visual History of Ball Gloves" and you may contact Dave on this forum as "Stockbuddy."
