Howdy from Texas, Moonlight ... ca va? I had almost the same question a while back and so I posted it as "What do you use when you play ball?" in this forum. I think you will find that thread on page two of this General Glove Discussion forum. I have included the link here, but I am kind of technology impaired and I am not sure it will work ...

Anyway, several people have said they do use their vintage gloves to play ball ... it's what they were made for, after all!

And, if you are like me, you hate to think of your good old gloves just gathering dust and getting lonely while your newer gloves have all the fun!
If I were you, I would play catch with my old gloves, IF they were not among the rarest of collectibles ... IF the construction were still solid enough to withstand the activity ... IF they were endorsed by one of my favorite players, IF the endorsement was not almost completely worn away and the activity would not further damage the visibility of the stampings ...
If you like the feel and the look of an old-timer glove, then you might want to check into some of the new reproductions of the old gloves. I think Akadema makes some ... the following is a link you might want to check out ...

and all that is just my two cents' worth!

Yes, I still have my first glove.
