All I know about Sam Hale is that his signature was on a cool Reach strapped fingers, trap web glove. Evidently he endorsed Rawlings' Bill Doak before that. They used his image on the cover of their Doak booklet in 1927 and in their catalogs into the 1930's.

Ed Walsh Jr. in 1929 with what looks like Wilson's Sarge Connaly model with the tunnels removed.

Thinking of Bob Uecker today. Looks like he's ready to snag that pop up with his mask instead of Joe Torre's mitt. He was a one of a kind.

Mickey Mantle in 1951, with the 50 year American League anniversary patch on his sleeve and the Rawlings cloud patch on his glove. I always think of the Mort Cooper model when I see that long barrel web, but it could be a Red Rolfe or Bob Dillinger as well. The snugger wrist strap was a pretty new feature but the V-anchored web was still a few years away.

Cy Young at an old timer's or benefit game. 1920's or 30's? Cool stampings but I don't recognize them.

Wow! What a great pic. Looks like a Horace Partridge logo to me at first glance.

I think you're right Jim. It does look like their logo stamping. Thanks!

Satchel Paige with a KenWel glove in the 1930's. Looks like a Dazzy Vance model.

Here's a similar KenWel Vance model from JD's site.

That's a great photo Mike! Here's Alex Kellner in 1959 with one that was on my want list for a long time. And now I have one. Thanks JD!

Another photo of Willie Mays with a Spalding glove. Rawlings and Wilson made gloves for Spalding at that time and Willie's was obviously made by Wilson. Their Warren Hacker model from 1954 looks like a good match to me and it was their only TOTL one made by Wilson. It's all conjecture on my part, but I think it's possible that he used that glove as well as his Rawlings HH in 1954.

Tony Piet with the throwback Spalding strap web in 1938. His signature was on one, although I can't find a catalog listing for it. The photo is from JD's glove gallery. Pretty rare.

After the 1955 season ended Willie Mays put together a team of all stars and barnstormed through the south. The pitching staff was Don Newcombe, Joe Black, Sam Jones, Brooks Lawrence, and Connie Johnson. Outfielders were Mays, Hank Aaron, Larry Doby, and Monte Irvin. They had an infield of Ernie Banks, Hank Thompson, Jim Gilliam, and George Crowe. To nobody's surprise they were 28-0. Looks like Willie was sporting a Rawlings in the photo.

A few gloves of the Willie Mays All Stars. Joe Black with the popular Wilson Lefty Gomez.

Ernie Banks with another TOTL Wilson. That style of web lacing was new to their 1956 catalog.
