I'm a lonesome baseball fan from the other side of the Atlantic ! Lonesome, because Baseball is not even broadcast on cable TV around here...
So the Internet is a pretty good place to get caught up on it, and this place is one of the greatest I've seen !
The very first memory I got as a kid about Baseball is Steve McQueen tossing his baseball against the wall and catching it again in the Great Escape. So that gives you a pretty good image of the kind of glove I'm in love with. The next very strong image I keep thinking of is the little boy acting Robert Redford's part as a kid in The Natural, catching a fly ball in a field. You should have seen me enacting the scene time and time again in my tiny garden !! And finally, Ray Liotta as Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams also made a great impression on the little boy I was, hence the user name I chose for this forum.
