Pete Gray glove

YO! At yesterday's Connie Mack Chapter's Hot Stove in McGillin's, our
server said her father owns a glove which he says used to be Pete
Gray's, the one-armed player for the St. Louis Browns during WWII. A
quick glance at baseball.reference.com reveals Gray used his left arm
for hitting, throwing and fielding--which means his glove could be a
"normal" glove for right-handed throwers, i.e., on the left hand.
Other net searches shows that he used an unpadded and specially-made
glove and that a glove of his is in Cooperstown. Does anyone know if
he possessed more than one glove? And, does anyone know who made his
gloves?

The above is an email I received from a SABR friend, and I thought I would post it here. If anyone has information to share, I will gladly pass it on.

Thanks in advance,
Ken

I saw Gray play in an exhibtion game one time and as i recall he would catch the ball and tuck the glove and ball under his other arm (where he still had part of the upper arm) retrieve the ball and throw it in an incredibly fast motion. I'm sure he turned to someone like Rawlings or leading glove maker of his day to fashion him a special glove to his design, probably much like the Abbott glove Rawlings made for the MLB pitcher. One could conjecture that he used more than one glove in his career.

No idea who made it, but here's a picture of the one that's in the HOF. Also a neat one of him fielding.
