It's the final year for this group of kids, the first ones to experience this three year program. We hope to be allowed to renew it next school year with a brand new group of pupils. They would start in what is the equivalent of your 7th grade and move on until the 9th grade. All this took place thanks to the generosity of the baseball glove forum members who donated gloves and baseball equipment 4 years ago. Starting from scratches we were able to take a group of pupils to 2 baseball camps in Brittany, and try new ways of teachings. Soon we'll be going to California thanks to the help from anther glove guy, Tom Locker. These have been the most formidable years of my entire career. I have been teaching English for 12 years and I know now what teaching is all about. Thanks to baseball and all these great moments I shared with these kids, I know what I really want to do for a living.
So I'd say this first period will be soon over. This is sad in a sure way. I love these kids. But another period will start soon enough. And that, my friend, is exhilarating!
Best,
Laurent
