Wilson A2000XL 1975 Dimensions

Postby toddrdmd » August 20th, 2010, 11:08 pm

Hi all new poster here. My father bought me my first A2000XL in 1975 for $32 dollars. I'm currently looking at new A2000's and comparing them mentally to my original glove. Does anyone happen to know the length of the original glove? Was it 12.5" or was it less? How exactly is this measurement arrived at. Thanks in advance.

toddrdmd, your 1975 a2000 xl would be a 12.5" glove. measured from the top, middle of the web, through the palm to the middle of the heel. a flexible tape like a fabric tape measure helps. the current a2000 xl is the same size, the a2000 elo is slightly larger at 12.75", the a2000 dw5 slightly smaller at 12.0". visit the wilson baseball glove website for other dimensions. see http://www.wilson.com/wilson/baseball/c ... 4302755249

to be sure this is a great forum and you are welcome to ask questions, post replies and read along, learning as you go. however, this forum no longer has a modern glove section. to find a forum on modern gloves go to http://glove-works.getwebs.org/board/. many of the same knowledgeable folks but more information on modern gloves than you will find here. enjoy!
