Heads up to my fellow glovers

Postby cubsrno1 » December 29th, 2009, 9:24 pm

There is an Ebay seller that has been listing gloves that are somewhat hard to find. He recently listed an Reach internal crescent which I was unlucky enough to win. The seller claims that this glove has been in his collection for some time. Well, its turns out that he recently purchased that glove on Ebay and altered it to make it look like it has an internal crescent. I discovered the glove by looking at his feedbacks and recent purchases. I have emailed him to let him know what I have found out and I have not gotten a response from him nor have I received the glove from him. So, I have to go through the Ebay process of getting a refund. He goes by seller name Zadorsky123. Beware of his glove auctions. Looking at his items sold, he also recently altered another glove and put a buckleback in place of a wrist strap. He claimed the glove has been in his collection for 17 years, which is false since he bought the glove on ebay in Nov. 2009.

I'm really sorry to hear that you got burned. If I were home when it ended I probably would have put a bid on it myself. Thanks for the heads up.

That glove was on my watch list also. Way to rat that dude out. File a Paypal claim & be sure to ship the glove back with delivery confirmation & you should have no problem getting your money back. That glove sure looks cool now though!

Looks like he stuffed a banana in there to simulate the internal crescent. Thanks for the heads up though. I wonder if this practice is prevalent on Ebay, or if it is just this one seller.

This guy has only 18 feedbacks in 3 1/2 years on Ebay. Also a 3 year gap between recent feedbacks and previous ones. Perhaps he was in the slammer for fraud during those 3 years? Sorry for your trouble. I hope you recover your money.

Thanks for sharing with the glove community. Hope everything works out for you. You have all the visual evidence so it should be a slam dunk. Then again, it is eBay so you never know.

Seller evidently planned out his ruse. He likely used the hole/opening in the back lining to insert his "crescent" pad. He then sewed the hole over with a leather patch. His other "cleverness" -- unless it's in the photography--was to clean/change the leather from more of an open/duller nap to a tighter, shiner leather appearance. Wonder what his price differences were in his cost on the glove when he purchased it to the sale price after the alteration? Just curious.

Thanks guys! The seller finally contacted me and has apologized for his auction. He has agreed to refund my money. In the meantime, I have filed a claim on ebay just in case he doesn't come through with his promise. It looks like I will get my money back somehow.
