What year did Rawlings start using the Heart of the Hide leather/logo?

The 1958 Rawlings catalog shows the Heart of the Hide logo on their premium gloves and mitts, but I don't know if that was the first year that they used it. It wasn't in use in their 1954 catalog. I don't have the 1955-57 catalogs. Anyone else know for certain?
