Pep Young

Whoever bought the Pep Young last week probably already noticed but in case you didn't it's stamped Frank Pep Young. I used to own one with a box. I believe Pep Young's name was Floyd, not Frank. You usually see either Pep Young or Floyd Pep Young. I always wondered if this was a mistake in stamping or there was another Pep Young. Either way I think it makes the glove more interesting. There was a Frank Young listed in the minors on Baseball Reference.com and he played about the same time Floyd would have been in the minors. Anybody that knows please chime in.

That's an interesting observation. My guess (and it's strictly a guess) is that it was stamped wrong. Maybe they had individual stamps for first and last names and they grabbed Frank by mistake? I know that they made a Frank McCormick mitt around that time. I did buy the glove and box from Brett thru his listed BIN or Best Offer. I saw it on his website months ago when I was laid off and didn't have the cash to spare. Work picked up, my glove fund returned and then a glove that I'd been looking for for a long time surfaced, so I passed again. I didn't get the other glove and when I saw that Brett had the Hutch on ebay I knew that I'd better pull the trigger. So, actually I wasn't even the "early bird" just a lucky one. I think someone had submitted a Best Offer on it by the time that I saw the listing.
