Mantle's name on a Spalding Glove

Postby softball66 » September 1st, 2009, 8:14 am

This should open a lively debate. Glover Don sent me this ebay posting for a Spalding Glove made in Mexico with M. Mantle's name on it (reads like Mantle's name deals with the web). Now, I've not heard of this glove and it's a curio's curio. I'm not totally surprised that Spalding turned to Mexico for a
few of its gloves. Not surprised. The glove is drawing some notice.
Picture of the glove is very small. Certainly looks like a Trapeze style or
Trapocket as Spalding called their's.

Isn't this one of those new vintage Spalding gloves they made a couple years ago?

I think Brett is right on. That looks like the newer ones they released a few years back.
