New Baseball Movie - Props Needed

Postby ebbets55 » August 5th, 2009, 7:10 pm

Hi All, I have been corresponding with a nice guy who contacted me through my site. He is making a baseball movie in New York and is looking for some help that goes beyond what I can help with. His first note is as follows:

"I am the prop master on a children's movie shooting in NY. It's about a kid interacting with the ghosts of Yankee greats. The Babe, Maris, and
especially Lou Gehrig (among many, many others).

There are also a few flash-backs to classic games and moments. I was
wondering if you have any interest in renting or selling me period
appropriate gloves or advising me as I go. I can generate a fairly detailed
list of the items I need.

Let me know what you think. Thank you."

By the way, he's looking for a lot of repros and generic period pieces. After a few e-mails, the costumer provided a list of more things they need.

"Here is a broad-strokes breakdown that our costumer put together. Her list works for my purposes as well, as we get started. I'll cut and paste it below. I can send images as I gather them but then again, you seem like the type of guy who knows this stuff backwards and forwards

BREAKDOWN:
Roger Maris # 9 1960 Jersey
Babe Ruth # 3 1923 uniform
Phil Rizzuto #10 1940s
Casey Stengel #37 1950s uniform-(manager)

Miller Huggins 1920s manager
Bill Dickey #8 1930s

Jackie Robinson #42 Brooklyn Dodgers 1947
Opposing Pitchers Game Flash Back:

For yankee teams above: batboys Coaches equipment managers?

May need some outfielders and infielders of opposing teams for 1923,1925,1939, and 1978 games

think about it, Jim. Thank you.

As far as rental goes, I can understand why you would be hesitant - it's a hobby not a business and that makes sense to me. However, we could work out some sort of contract that protects them and assures their return in the same condition. Or maybe you could just help me find and price and acquire them on ebay. That way we can modify and color them to our liking."

So my question to you Forum guys/gals is, would anyone be interested in renting out some period gloves or bats or be interested in selling anything to him directly?. I’m going to help him track down some generic period gloves but that’s about all I can do. Let me know. Thanks.

I'd be willing to rent or sell depending on what they need. Feel free to give him my contact information and website.

You can also tell him I have 2 film credits to my name and would love to add a third.
