Why were early turn of the century leather specialized sporting goods companies more interested in baseball related goods than football, soccer
or basketball sports? :?: :?: :?:

You only use one football, basketball or soccer ball in a game - each baseball player needs a glove so that is at least 18 - more items equals more money!

At the time, baseball was more popular & widespread than all the other sports you mentioned combined. Also, baseball equipment encompassed a larger age group or bigger customer base than the others. Little kids back then did not play basketball much & football was a far second to baseball. I don't think it was even competition until the '60s.
